in this exercise we are suppose to Create "Scary Images or Object" that will instill fear among people to protect a place from people to trespass through out the ages using cats.
this was mind small mind map to help through the process :
i used random association words to drew it..
1) teath: this is the best one.. we can make a trap made of steel teeth and hide it between the gras ...when someone steps on it , it will close on his feet and will get hurt ..
2)eyes: we can make light balls with red and yellow color ...the light balls will be standing next to the sign so the people will see the sign and the colors will give them the feeling of dangour and cosion...
3)four legs: we can make a wall of steel like steel legs ...it will have abroken glass on top of it...
4)hair: we can put electric wires all around the island ...so who ever tries to get in will steo on the wires and will get electrefied...
hii am laila ...and welcome to ma blog in this blog i'll be presenting some of ma thoughts and ideas on ma creative studies class and i hope if any one wants to say any thing or share you can just post a comment thanx alot :)

JUXTAPOSITION !! (ANALOGY VS METAPHOR)
ANALOGY VS METAPHOR:
**what is ANALOGY???
it is a cognitive process of transferring information from a particular subject (the analogue or source) to another particular subject (the target), and a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process
**what is METAPHOR???
A metaphor is an analogy between two objects or ideas; the analogy is conveyed by the use of a metaphorical word in place of some other word. For example: "Her eyes were glistening jewels".
**What is the DIFFERENCES between Analogy and Metaphor???
"A metaphor is more forceful (active) than an analogy, because metaphor asserts two things are the same, whereas anology implies a difference; or other rhethorical comparative figures of speech, such as metonymy, parable, simile, and synecdoche, are species of metaphor distinguished by how the comparison is communicated."
this is an example of a metarphor:
the smoking effects everyone around negetavily just like the factories...it effects people's lives

JUXTAPOSITION ( left-right brain )!!!
Right Brain vs. Left Brain:
Definition
This theory of the structure and functions of the mind suggests that the two different sides of the brain control two different “modes” of thinking. It also suggests that each of us prefers one mode over the other.
Discussion
Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres, of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking:
Right Brain :
Random
Intuitive
Holistic
Synthesizing
Subjective
Looks at whole
left brain:
Logical
Sequential
Rational
Analytical
Objective
Looks at parts
Most individuals have a distinct preference for one of these styles of thinking. Some, however, are more whole-brained and equally adept at both modes. In general, schools tend to favor left-brain modes of thinking, while downplaying the right-brain ones. Left-brain scholastic subjects focus on logical thinking, analysis, and accuracy. Right-brained subjects, on the other hand, focus on aesthetics, feeling, and creativity.

Juxtaposition (Class Exercise A)
Class Exercise A
First, we were given 2 series of words which paired with a number in front of them.
Let's start the exercise!
Step 1
Thinks 3 pairs of number between 00-99.
The 3 pairs of number choosen:
- 36
- 66
- 29
Step 2
Match the words according to the numbers.
- 36 : ice spider
- 66 : duck spider

Step 3
Make a sentence for each pair of the words.
-36: ice is next to the spider web.

JUXTAPOSITION !!
this is a very intresting subject to talk about and to me i think its one of the most important subject..
so the first question will be what is JUXTAPOSITION ??
well ... "Juxtaposition can be defined as placing two variables, side by side and their contrast or similarities are shown through comparison. Many creative processes rely on juxtaposition. By juxtaposing two objects or words next to each other, human brain will automatically associate or transfer meaning. Usually 'turning' something familiar to something less familar or vice-versa."
from: lecturer notes
when we mention JUXTAPOSITION that means we are refering to:
Juxtaposition (literary), synonymous with contrast, two objects or texts that oppose one another.
Random juxtaposition, two random objects moving in parallel, a technique intended to stimulate creativity.
from: lecturer notes
but then ..what is random juxtapostion??
Random Juxtaposition refers to the stimulation of creativity in problem solving, design or other creative pursuit by confronting two unrelated concepts or objects, usually the goal or problem to be solved on the one hand and a randomly selected object or concept on the other. Similar to an oxymoron.
WEBSITE:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_juxtaposition
some examples that shows juxtaposition:
1. this image shows the contrast between an old building and a new one

2.this image shows the contrat between the past and the present
the sofa is modern but the brown chaire is an old material.. also the clock is totaly old and from the past ...so when you look at the picture u think..what does any thing has to do with anything elss

3. anothe image that shows the contrast between the two signs
